Every holiday season, Baltimore-area residents pack 34th Street in Hampden to see the illuminated homes. This year, residents there are asking visitors to sit this year out.
The group behind the “Miracle on 34th Street” says on their website that organizers are still ironing out their plans for this year. Typically, the displays are inflated and lit up right after Thanksgiving on 34th Street between Keswick and Chestnut avenues.
However, concerns over the coronavirus make crowds like the ones the “Miracle” draws a potential danger to public health.
The tradition dates back 73 years.
